About Me

My therapeutic experience extends over 30 years.

Having qualified as a doctor, I originally trained in psychiatry at London's Maudsley and Middlesex hospitals. I also experienced medical work in other cultures spending some time in Uganda and in Jamaica.

Much of my career has been as a G.P., combining this with clinical sessions in psychotherapy in Sheffield's main teaching and children's hospitals.

I now work in private practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor.

I am also on the teaching staff of Sheffield University, acting as tutor on the MSc in Psychotherapy Studies course.

My qualifications include:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Diploma in Psychological Medicine
  • MA in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling

I am registered with the General Medical Council, accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am married with a large, extended family.
